Having dipped in and out of wine for almost ten years whilst in pursuit of a career in journalism Simon rocked up in Paris thinking he'd just waltz into a major newspaper and maybe take over an editorial role. In hindsight, not speaking much French at the time and thinking Bordeaux was the capital made this rather unlikely.
Thankfully Mark Williamson of Willis Wine Bar took pity on Simon and gave him a job in his eponymous wine bar in the middle of Paris. Simon's never looked back and has now, amongst other things and over the past 15 years, made wine in Australia and France, worked up from wine waiter to sommelier to wine buyer and consultant and now wants to share what he's seen with everyone else.
